My closet is usually quite clean, but I always like to have a sachet of some sort in there to keep all my clothes smelling fresh. It's actually very easy to make one (especially if you live in France! - lavendar for grabs and all..) and today I thought I would show you how I make mine.

What you will need:

Dried lavendar// String// Thread// Needle// Pins// Fabric// Fabric scissors

Depending on how big you want your sachet to be, fold over the fabric and cut some out with a small width and bigger length (about twice the width). You will need to leave about 1/2 cm of seam allowance on each side. Then make sure it's folded over evenly and pin it inside out (good side facing down) to make sure it all stays in place.

Then go ahead and sew both sides with a basic straight stitch. I went over it twice to make sure that there are no big holes in the sides and all the lavendar will stay inside. Finish both sides with a few knots and cut off any excess thread.

Turn the little bag you just sewed inside out to reveal the right side of the fabric. Then all you need to do is add the lavendar and secure it inside by tying a piece of string around the top.

And there you have it! Beside making this for yourself, you can also make a few more to give away as a gift. I think it's always nice to give something that you made yourself and that personal touch is usually much appreciated!

How do you keep your clothes smelling fresh?
